The collision of global markets and social mood

20 days. 16 states. 7259 miles.

No accidents. No mishaps. No tickets.

It was an amazing experience that I was fortunate to have. And in myriad ways, the journey really is the reward. Perhaps because the journey never ends. The memories, the lessons, the moments . . . these live on forever.

And for that, I am ever grateful.

  1. Hi Marz,

I've been following your blog and travels. In May 2008, my wife and I quit our jobs to travel for the summer. We live in Northern, VA and traveled cross country to go to a lot of the same parks you went to on your trip. We went all the way to Seattle and into Canada and even went to Banff. I know you skipped it this trip but make sure you go there some day. We blogged about our travels at Just recently we did another trip to texas and back so the first stories are from that trip.

After our 2008 trip I went back to work but then quit again in Jan 2010 to trade full time. It did not go well unfortunately so I have to go back to hiss.

Looking forward to your market commentary and future trips. That summer 2008 trip we did was the best time of our lives. The northwest sure is beautiful.

  2. Hi James,

Thanks for sharing. Sorry for not responding sooner -- been goofing off a little and catching up with friends. I will definitely check out your blog. And yes, Banff is a must someday. I was really sad to miss it.
