I can't believe it. Jim Rogers was just interviewed by Shanghai Daily and finally did not sound like a permabull on China. Now you can see why.
The only thing I worry about is water.
China has one of the worst water problems in the world. Unless you solve your water problem, there’s no China story. I’ve been around the world a couple of times, I’ve seen whole cities, societies and countries disappear because of water problems.
The amount, quality and supply of water could lead to the end of China’s story if the problem is not solved in time.
Jim Rogers is probably my most favorite investor of all time. His book Investment Biker is like a bible to me. My own mother swears by it. Over the years, I've emailed him here and there and he's always responded, very gracious and generous with his time.
If Jim Rogers is saying this about China, you know he's studied it.
I agree on the long-term China bull story, but feel they will go through some very rough times beforehand. So I am not a China bull yet. Quite to the contrary, as I've alluded to many times in these pages.
